USB 3.0 hub for data transfer, connecting PC accessories and charging
‘Do I connect the USB stick first, or the phone? With the Hama 1:4 USB 3.0 hub, you no longer have to consider which USB device you should plug in first, or which you can currently do without. The four USB ports are sufficient to connect a mouse, hard drive, printer, etc., and enable more efficiency and convenience in your work, whether at home or on the go.
Powerful USB hub with power supply unit
The USB hub is ideal for connecting power-intensive components, such as external hard drives, for example. For this purpose, you simply connect the supplied power supply unit. However, if you only want to connect small devices that do not need much power, such as a mouse or USB stick, or devices that have their own power supply, such as a printer, the hub can be used without the power supply unit.
SuperSpeed data transfer
USB 3.0 is the current standard for new USB storage devices. The Hama data hub is therefore equipped exclusively with USB 3.0 slots. They enable SuperSpeed data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbit/s. This means you can store music and videos on USB sticks, or archive photos on external hard drives, up to ten times faster than with a USB 2.0 port.
Of course, the hub is downward compatible with USB 2.0 devices. You can continue to use them with the usual USB 2.0 transfer rate.
High-quality, compact design
High-performance devices require a hub to be made of high-quality materials. The USB 3.0 hub therefore has a robust aluminium surface with excellent thermal conductivity – perfect if you are using powerful external hard drives that produce more heat, for example. Furthermore, the aluminium design of the hub looks superb next to your Ultrabook or Mac.
Despite its compact design, the docking station can accommodate wide USB plugs and dongles thanks to the extra-large spacing between sockets. This ensures that you can use all of the ports whenever necessary.
Even greater efficiency thanks to charging function
What about if while working, you want to quickly charge your smartphone on one of the remaining USB ports? This is not a problem thanks to the intelligent chipset! The hub with IC recognises connected phones and tablets automatically, and uses fast charging technology to quickly make the devices ready for use again. The available charging capacity depends on how the hub is supplied with power. With the power supply unit connected, you can connect several devices that together draw up to 2.5 amps of current.
